Andrade Wedding | Casa Monica | St. Augustine Wedding Photography

There is quite the European feel when you enter St. Augustine; driving over the Lion’s Gate Bridge into the heart of the oldest city in America was exciting and very romantic. The spiral turrets atop the castle like buildings and the detail carved into the nooks and crannies lured and sang to us as we traveled their streets.

We arrived in awe at the historic Casa Monica and observed the many Spanish influences incorporated throughout the great hotel. The wedding day of Meredith and Anthony was upon us; it was overcast and windy, but as the gorgeous bride said, she wouldn’t have had it any other way.

The knock upon the bride’s room was greeted with hair curlers and a perfume of hairspray. It was hours before aisle time and the room was in a calm flurry of dresses, makeup and hair. When a stopping point was reached, Meredith reached for a small box that contained a token from her beloved. In anxious curiosity she opened her final gift before becoming Mrs. Andrade. Surrounded by her very best friends she was adorned, zipped up, and pampered into the most stunning bride.

Anthony and his merry friends were excited for their brother to walk down the aisle and say I do. Before all the merriment could commence they were rewarded with beautiful boxes filled with liquid courage, cigars and customized cuff links. The final touches of Anthony’s grand suit were adorned by his father as the room bantered in playful tones before leaving for the church.

On the way to St. Augustine, we received an urgent email stating we would be in a different church venue tomorrow afternoon. Meredith and Anthony had planned on saying their vows in the oldest catholic church in the country, but due to drastic remodeling and scaffolding covering a huge part of the venue they decided to switch at the very last minute. You can only imagine the stress this placed on our dear bride and groom as texts, calls, and emails were sent to both guests and vendors alike. It seemed as though everyone got the message in time and the gorgeous new church held just as much grace as it’s predecessor. The ceremony was simple and unique, tailored perfectly for our sweet, adoring couple.

We were able to take a few beautiful photographs at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, where Meredith and Anthony were originally set to be married.

After the ceremony, Meredith, Anthony, and the entire bridal party hopped on the most adorable trolley to tour the city and take some truly incredible photographs. We stopped at the fort and Magnolia Street, which was lined with these ancient oak trees before heading back to cocktail hour.

Upon entering the reception we were wrapped in warm pinks and purples. Diamonds dripped over the centerpieces and delicate orchids were scattered around. The night was filled with dancing, and celebrating with the new Mr. and Mrs. Andrade. The end of the evening was marked with a grand exit with guests wishing goodnight while lighting their path with sparklers.
